Steamed Swiss Chard with Yogurt

  • 3 - 4 leaves of Swiss chard
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Wash the chard leaves well and then cut them into approximately 1inch wide strips. Cut the stems into 1/4 inch long pieces. Set aside.

Measure one cup of plain yogurt into a small mixing bowl, add the salt and the garlic clove passed through a garlic press. Mix well, set aside.

Use your steamer to steam the chard. It should not require more than 5 minutes.

On your serving plate, create a layer of steamed chard leaves.

Spread a thin layer of yougurt.

Create a new layer of chard leaves and then spread a thin layer of the yogurt.

Continue layers of steamed chard leaves and yogurt. Be sure to save some yogurt for the top.

Heat the olive oil in a pan, add the paprika as soon as you remove it from heat.

Pour the oil on the final layer of yogurt.
