- 1/4 lb feta cheese
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs - prepared from a basic European bread such as
French baguette or Italian batard - should not contain sugar.
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon red pepper
- 1 tablespoon pepper paste
- 1/4 cup olive oil

This is a great spread that can be served as an appetizer
on slices of French baguette or similar bread. It takes its name from
the mixture used to coat the Turkish dried beef, pastirma.
Finely
chop the walnuts, set aside.
Mash
the feta cheese using a fork, set aside.
Mix
all ingredients in a mixing bowl until smooth. You can use your food processor
for a smoother texture.
Serve
at room temperature on thin slices of bread.
